About the Author

Tarcisio Navarro Buriti is the author of Aquarela Portuguese for Foreigners and founder of Aquarela Publishing.
A native of Brazil and full-time instructor at the U.S. Department of State, he teaches American diplomats at the National Foreign Affairs Training Center (NFATC), where he also develops curriculum and conducts formal language assessments.
With over 18 years of experience supporting federal language programs, adult education, and international training, Buriti brings deep expertise in instructional design, teacher mentoring, and assessment.
He holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and federal certifications in language testing and interpretation.
Through the Aquarela series, Buriti combines education, culture, and technology to help learners worldwide achieve real-world proficiency and meaningful cross-cultural communication.
