About the author
Tarcisio Navarro Buriti, the author and founder, hails from the vibrant land of Brazil. With a deep-rooted passion for his native language and culture, he embarked on a new chapter in Washington, D.C. in 1992. Since then, he has devoted himself to teaching Portuguese and sharing the rich tapestry of Brazilian culture with others.

Buriti's expertise in second language acquisition has opened doors to remarkable opportunities. Notably, he has made a significant impact at the esteemed Foreign Service Institute of the Department of State - US, guiding Foreign and Civil Service Officers as they prepare for their overseas assignments. His expertise has also been sought after by renowned institutions such as The Graduate School-USDA, international organizations like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and The World Bank, as well as several respected language schools in Washington, DC area.
With over eighteen years of experience and a track record of success, Buriti has excelled in various aspects of language program/project management, translation and interpretation, curriculum development, testing, and language instruction. His remarkable dedication has served US Federal Government agencies, the military, the diplomatic corps, and private corporations with distinction.

Since 2007, Buriti has also been the driving force behind Aquarela Publishing and Language Services, a venture close to his heart. His strong passion for developing Brazilian Portuguese training materials stems from his desire to share the language, history, and culture of Brazil with others. Through his book, he aims to provide students with insight into the language and traditions of this unique and inspiring country.
